Teacher Facilitator
Application

At the Phoenix Desert Center, we are seeking passionate, dedicated facilitators who are inspired by the wisdom of our ancestors and share our vision of a harmonious future. As a teacher and guide, you will not only instruct but weave together the threads of ancient practices, helping others reconnect with the land, community, and their creative potential.

We believe that teaching is an art form—one that fosters healing, creativity, and resilience within each participant. Our facilitators are more than just instructors; they are caretakers of knowledge, entrusted with the sacred responsibility of revitalizing traditions that anchor us to the earth and each other.

If you feel deeply called to share your expertise in ancestral skills, sustainable living, or earth-based arts, we invite you to apply and join our flourishing community of wisdom-keepers.

Facilitator Responsibilities

As a facilitator at the Phoenix Desert Center, your role is multifaceted, blending education, mentorship, and stewardship of the land. You will:

  • Lead workshops and classes that bring ancestral arts and sustainable practices to life, guiding participants in hands-on learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with community members to co-create spaces of healing, where learning becomes a shared, nurturing process that benefits all.
  • Foster an environment of mutual respect and growth, where the wisdom of ancient ways inspires innovation, creativity, and deep connection.
  • Steward the land through your teachings, ensuring that every interaction with nature is one of gratitude, respect, and reciprocity.

Desired Qualities and Skills

We are looking for facilitators who embody the essence of the Phoenix Desert Center’s mission—those who carry a deep respect for ancestral knowledge and an eagerness to guide others along the path of reconnection. Key qualities and skills include:

  • A reverence for ancestral knowledge and a commitment to teaching practices that foster a deep bond with the natural world.
  • Experience in your field of instruction, whether it be primitive technologies, sustainable building, regenerative agriculture, or ancestral arts, and a desire to share that knowledge with others.
  • An open-hearted, inclusive teaching style that creates a safe and supportive space for learners of all backgrounds and skill levels.
  • A willingness to foster community through shared goals, mutual respect, and collaborative learning.
  • A passion for the preservation of traditional knowledge and a vision for how it can inform a balanced and resilient future.

What We Offer

At the Phoenix Desert Center, we honor our facilitators as integral members of our community. In exchange for your guidance and contributions, you will receive:
